New wine shop to open

Fans of fine wine and good food have reason to celebrate as 110 Leigh Road is now home to the area’s first wine shop and tasting room, Vino Vero. Owned by Local couple, Sam and Charlotte Brown, Vino Vero will provide Leigh residents with the opportunity to taste and buy exciting wines for every occasion.

“We want to share our love of wine and teach people how to appreciate what’s in their glass.”  Says Sam, who grew up in Leigh “Vino Vero will be a place to enjoy a glass or two of wine with friends and sample some homemade and locally sourced food. What more could you want from your neighbourhood wine shop?”

The shop, which specialises in sustainable wines from small independent producers, will have a tasting area, where customers can buy glasses of wine to enjoy on the premises with some local and handmade food. Vino Vero will also host wine tasting evenings with winemakers and wine experts, where residents can have an evening out learning more about wine.

“The people of Leigh are passionate about sustainability and buying local.” says Charlotte “They care about where their food comes from and they are becoming increasingly aware about what’s in their glass too. You only get a certain number of bottles to try in your life. We’re here to make sure you choose some great ones.”

Vino Vero’s grand opening is on Friday May 3rd and everyone is invited to sample the delights of this wonderful addition to the Leigh Road, with festivities commencing from 6pm. To find out more about the shop, or to browse the extensive online wine catalogue, visit
